Call for Nominations – Honors of the Academy & Early Career Excellence Award

The Honors Committee for the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS) welcomes nominations of current members of ANCDS for the 2025 Honors of the Academy and the 2025 Early Career Excellence Award.

2025 Honors of the Academy

Nominees should be ANCDS members who have shown outstanding contributions to research, teaching, clinical innovations, and/or service in neurologic communication disorders.

Nominations must be made by ANCDS members. Self-nominations are not accepted. The following should be included with the nomination:

In support of the nomination, please submit the following:

  • An attachment (there is no page limit) outlining the nominee's outstanding accomplishments in any of the following areas: research, teaching, treatment, service in neurologic communication disorders, and/or notable contributions to the Academy;
  • A current CV for the nominee;
  • At least two letters of support of the nomination.

2025 Early Career Excellence Award

Purpose: This award is intended to recognize the accomplishments of early career members who show promise in advancing the field through their activities and service.

Eligibility: Nominees should:

  • Be ANCDS members
  • Be up to, but no more than, 10 years from the terminal degree (MS or PhD)
  • Demonstrate outstanding contributions to research, teaching, clinical innovations, and/or service since beginning their careers as BC-NCD members. These contributions should be demonstrated as grant awards, publications, presentations, innovations to clinical service delivery, or other impactful influences on the practice and science of neurogenic communication disorders.

Individuals nominated but not selected may be re-nominated in succeeding years if eligible.

* If the nominee has had an interruption in their career path precluding them from the 10-year eligibility, they may submit a letter detailing this interruption to clarify eligibility
