Renew Your ANCDS Membership for 2025!

Dear ANCDS Members,

It is time to renew your ANCDS membership for the 2025 calendar year!

We are proud to say that ANCDS has continued to offer members opportunities for continuing education.  We offered several webinars (at no cost to members) through both live and archived formats this year.  Presentations included “The Speech-Language Pathologist's Role in Fatigue After Childhood Brain Injury”, “The Big Question on Ethics and Ethical Dilemmas”, and “The ANCDS Race, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Self-Study: Freedom of Discomfort”.

Our 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting will take place virtually on three evenings in November.  This year’s theme is “Culturally Responsive Interventions in Neurogenic Communication Disorders" and the schedule includes presentations from excellent speakers on a variety of topics.  To view the complete schedule of presentations and events, and to register, visit the annual meeting page.  With your support, we awarded 12 student fellowships to Master's and Ph.D. level students who will participate in the 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting, receive mentorship from ANCDS members, and complimentary membership for the year to come.

The ANCDS Board of Residency Education promotes excellence in clinical education through accreditation of post-graduate residency programs in speech-language pathology that serve individuals with neurologic communication disorders.  To date in 2024, BRE has received an Application for BRE Accreditation from two clinical programs, anticipates two additional applications before the end of the year, and more applications in 2025.  ANCDS is proud to be the organization that supports and accredits outstanding post-graduate speech-language pathology residency programs.

As we look toward 2025, we hope to accomplish even more for and with our members.  We will continue to offer member benefits and programs such as webinars, board certification, REDI self-study courses, e-newsletters, and more.  Please note that full members will see a moderate increase in the annual dues beginning for the 2025 membership year, in order to keep up with rising operational costs and with our new and expanding member programs and services.

We are interested in gathering information on the diversity of the ANCDS membership.  Beginning this year for the membership renewal form, we've included some additional questions that ask about race, ethnicity, English language status, disability status, gender, and sexual orientation as a broad way to do this.  Each of the categories provides an option to not divulge if that is what you prefer.  We hope you will help us in gathering this information.

Additionally, on your renewal form, members will find several directory-related fields.  Due to member request, the ANCDS Board and Executive Officers have decided that the ANCDS Member Directory will now be visible to members only.  This means that there is no longer a public-facing directory, so non-members and the public will not be able to access any member data or contact information through the ANCDS website.

By default, all full members will appear in the new members-only directory.  However, only the contact information you fill in to the designated "Directory"-related fields will be shown.  You can opt in/out of having this information shown at any time during your renewal or afterwards by editing your profile.  To opt out, simply leave the desired fields blank.  Your name and credentials will remain visible to all members.

Please take a moment to submit your renewal online via the links below, and confirm your commitment to our professional association.  We hope to work together in the coming year to establish a better understanding of and enhanced assessment and treatment methods for neurologic communication disorders.
